Review: Robbie Williams XXV Tour
It was a beautiful balmy evening in Adelaide, the night of November 26, 2023, when Robbie Williams closed the Adelaide 500 with a celebration of 25 years as a performing solo artist. The concert was located near the Botanical Gardens entrance off North Terrace, a significant area for The Arts, including open air movies and The Garden of Unearthly Delights (part of Fringe Festival). As the buzz had settled from the fast car racing and crowds, the stillness was comforting, as the fans were focused on a night with Robbie Williams.
As a live show is about to commence, there is always that anticipation from the crowd. In this instance it was a world tour from a global pop star. A live performance on this level is whole different animal, as Robbie Williams and his band start to perform, it’s definitely not a disappointment.
In 1997 the album Life thru a Lens is released, and thereby launching an incredibly successful career as a solo artist. Williams went on to break a Guiness Book of World Records when he sold 1.6 million tickets in one day for his Close Encounters Tour.
To celebrate his 25th year anniversary as a solo artist the XXV tour was announced and a Netflix series has also been released, covering his life and career from a young 16 year old in a boy band until now. The Netflix series simply titled Robbie Williams is available now to stream and I have included the official trailer below.
