Australia’s greatest cycling race is in full swing in Adelaide this week, as the most prestigious cycling race in the Southern Hemisphere. Tour Down Under is a memorable event that sporting enthusiasts look forward to each year, as the city goes all out to host and give tourists a good time as part of the international cycling circuit.

The tour village is open every day until Sunday 21st of January. Entry is free with big screens available for viewing the race, a wonderful idea for those in the city to watch the event and to feel a part of the action.

How To Watch

According to Bike Radar, most countries have an option for viewing the race, highlights would probably be available on YouTube and in Australia, it is available to stream on 7plus and watch on Channel 7 TV. It is beautiful to watch while getting amazing views from the Adelaide Hill, the city, as well as the Barossa Valley.

If relaxing is your thing, Hilton Adelaide would be the place to be. The Hilton’s 5-star bar overlooks Victoria Square, where the tour village is set up. Later in the afternoon, they usually open the windows allowing a combination of cool air-conditioned air and the warm summer breeze to mix together, wafting around those sipping drinks while watching all the action. This is a favourite passtime of mine for this particular event, I love to sit in the cool with a tall glass of iced lemon, lime and bitters, watching all the athletes and people watching, in general, which I will add is something most writers have in common.
