Simple Minds February 14th
Simple Minds are part of the 1970s and 1980s New Romantic sound that came out of the U.K. This new sound was embraced by the U.K., Europe and Oceania readily, but it was a film that broke the U.S. market with the movie The Breakfast Club (1985).
Currently doing a world tour to promote their new album and engage with their fans, this date is perfect for Adelaide, for both celebrating Valentine’s Day and getting out to enjoy some live music by a top global band.
Tickets
Tickets are only available through Ticketek. According to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, anything outside of that is a scam, no matter how official it may look.
Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, the band grew in popularity in the United Kingdom, followed by success in Australia as their first big international break. This was a time when rock and pop were gaining huge popularity in Australia, with the help of the music show Countdown on the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Company) hosted by Molly Meldrum in the Melbourne Studios. This was a time when INXS and Jimmy Barnes were coming on the scene, and the show was filmed at the Ripponlea studio.
Having sold over 60 million albums worldwide, if you can only get to one concert this year, make it this one. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see an exceptional band like this, opportunities like this don’t often come back again.
The Adelaide Entertainment Centre is a cashless venue with tips on their website as to what to expect from your night out.
